I was fortunate to be invited to sail with the talented team on Whirlwind, a Beneteau 36.7, in the EBYRA Wednesday series on July 3rd.
Here's an image of our boat from regatta.com, just so you know how she looks:

So that recent Wednesday the weather forecast was threatening wet. My luck in prior weeks was to stay dry even with similar forecasts. Apparently my teammates felt the same, and we didn't prepare for a big wet.
Mistake!
It rained cats and dogs in brief bursts. But the race was intensely tactical and nobody had a chance to put on jackets. We got stupid soaking wet. Thankfully it wasn't cold.
Everyone was soaked. I had to take care not to snap inappropriate pics.
During the downpour(s) photography was impossible. Plus, we were trying to win the race. So I was supposed to try to help sail the boat instead of take pics. :/
So these pics are after we survived the race and the downpours. We took second in the race that evening.
Erica, Marina, Dave and Jen are all laughing because we are all so wet it's ridiculous. We sailed around a bit after the race and the showers hoping to dry our spinnaker.
So we got back to the mooring and celebrated our second place finish with a beverage. Thanks and fair winds, team Whirlwind!
